Crew Chief – SERVPRO of Mesquite

SERVPRO of Mesquite is looking for an experienced, motivated, and dependable Crew Chief to lead restoration crews on residential and commercial projects.

The Crew Chief is the on-site supervisor and primary leader of the production team. This position is responsible for directing technicians, maintaining production and labor targets, ensuring work is completed according to SERVPRO standards, communicating with customers, and making sure each job is properly documented from start to finish.

Specialized drying techniques and DryBook training provided.

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Supervision & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary supervisor and leader on assigned restoration jobs.

  • Direct, instruct, and train Water Technicians throughout the job.

  • Assign daily tasks and ensure technicians understand job expectations.

  • Lead by example in safety, customer service, production, and professionalism.

  • Monitor technician performance and provide coaching when necessary.

  • Ensure all work is completed according to company procedures and industry standards.

  • Maintain a professional relationship with customers, property owners, and other contractors.

  • Communicate job progress, concerns, and changes to management.

Production & Labor Management

  • Maintain established labor targets for each project.

  • Monitor labor hours and productivity throughout the job.

  • Assign technicians efficiently based on workload and job requirements.

  • Identify potential labor overruns and communicate concerns to management.

  • Keep the crew productive and organized throughout the workday.

  • Maximize production while maintaining quality and proper documentation.

  • Ensure equipment, materials, and labor are being used efficiently.

Job Quality & Checklists

Crew Chiefs are responsible for ensuring every job is completed properly and meets company expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing required job checklists.

  • Verifying that technicians are completing assigned tasks correctly.

  • Ensuring proper documentation throughout the project.

  • Monitoring moisture levels and drying progress.

  • Verifying equipment placement and operation.

  • Identifying deficiencies before leaving the job.

  • Ensuring jobs are clean, organized, and professionally completed.

  • Communicating any issues or additional work requirements to management.

Crew Chief Weekly Bonus Program

Crew Chiefs are eligible for a weekly paid bonus program exclusively for Crew Chiefs.

Bonuses are paid on a competitive performance basis among Crew Chiefs and are designed to reward production, efficiency, quality, and proper job execution.

Weekly bonus categories include:

1. Maximum Equipment Set – Day One

  • Properly identify the drying requirements of the job.

  • Maximize the appropriate drying equipment placement on the first day.

  • Ensure equipment is properly installed, documented, and operating.

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of drying requirements and job conditions.

2. Specialty Equipment

  • Properly identify when specialty equipment is needed.

  • Correctly use and deploy specialty drying and restoration equipment.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of advanced equipment and drying techniques.

  • Ensure specialty equipment is properly documented and monitored.

3. Contents Blocking

  • Properly protect and move contents when required.

  • Efficiently block contents to allow proper airflow and drying.

  • Maintain organization and minimize unnecessary handling.

  • Protect customer property while maintaining production efficiency.

4. Extraction

  • Complete water extraction efficiently and thoroughly.

  • Maximize extraction before beginning the drying process.

  • Use proper extraction equipment and techniques.

  • Maintain job quality, documentation, and production standards.

Each bonus category is evaluated weekly, with bonuses paid weekly.

The bonus program is exclusive to Crew Chiefs and is separate from regular wages. Management may establish or modify specific bonus criteria, qualifications, and payout amounts based on company production goals and job requirements.

Specialized Drying Training

SERVPRO of Mesquite will provide specialized training to help Crew Chiefs develop advanced water mitigation and drying skills.

Training may include:

  • Advanced water mitigation techniques.

  • Moisture mapping.

  • Psychrometry and drying science.

  • Air movement and dehumidification.

  • Proper equipment placement.

  • Maximizing equipment on Day One.

  • Specialty drying equipment.

  • Monitoring and documenting drying progress.

  • Identifying potential drying issues.

  • Troubleshooting difficult drying conditions.

  • Proper extraction techniques.

  • Contents protection and blocking procedures.

Our goal is to develop Crew Chiefs who understand why equipment is being used, not simply where to place it.

DryBook Training

Training will also be provided on DryBook and our digital job documentation processes.

Crew Chiefs will learn how to:

  • Properly document jobs.

  • Record moisture readings.

  • Document equipment placement.

  • Track drying progress.

  • Maintain accurate job records.

  • Complete required documentation and checklists.

  • Organize job information from start to finish.

  • Provide management with accurate and timely job updates.

Accurate documentation is a critical part of the Crew Chief position.

Customer Service

Crew Chiefs are often the primary point of contact for customers while work is being performed.

You will be expected to:

  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, and customers.

  • Explain the restoration process clearly.

  • Provide regular updates on job progress.

  • Address customer questions and concerns professionally.

  • Maintain a clean and professional work environment.

  • Represent SERVPRO of Mesquite with professionalism at every job.

Valid Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record

A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.

Crew Chiefs may be required to operate company vehicles and transport personnel, equipment, and materials to job sites.

Applicants must:

  • Have a valid driver's license.

  • Maintain an acceptable driving record.

  • Be willing and able to drive company vehicles.

  • Follow all company vehicle and safety policies.

  • Demonstrate responsible driving habits.

  • Drying equipment and moisture monitoring.

Restoration experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who demonstrates leadership, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform physical restoration work, including:

  • Lifting and carrying equipment.

  • Moving furniture and contents.

  • Operating extraction equipment.

  • Setting and moving air movers and dehumidifiers.

  • Working in wet or damaged areas.

  • Performing demolition when necessary.

  • Bending, kneeling, standing, and working in confined areas.

  • Working on ladders when required.

  • Working extended hours when necessary to meet customer and production needs.
