About SERVPRO of Allentown

When fire, water, soot, or mold disasters strike homes and businesses, SERVPRO steps in to make it "Like it never even happened!" We are looking for dependable, energetic, and hands-on individuals to join our team as Entry Level Restoration Technicians. No prior restoration experience is required—we provide full hands-on training, industry certification opportunities, and a clear path for career growth.

Key Benefits & Compensation

  • Pay Rate: $20 – $25.00/hour starting rate, plus overtime potential.

  • Sign-on Bonus: $1,200 sign-on bonus.

  • Benefits Package: Full Health, Dental, and Vision insurance options, Paid Time Off (PTO), and Retirement options (eligible after 90 days of continuous employment).

  • Schedule: Full-time day shift (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with rotating on-call/emergency response availability.

  • Career Growth: Paid industry certifications (IICRC) and training for advancement into Lead Technician roles.

Roles & Responsibilities (R&R)

1. Emergency Water & Fire Damage Mitigation

  • Assist with extraction of standing water using pumps, extractors, and heavy-duty shop vacuum equipment.

  • Set up, monitor, and tear down restoration equipment such as industrial air movers, dehumidifiers, and scrubbers.

  • Perform demolition tasks when necessary (removing damaged drywall, flooring, trim, and insulation).

2. Mold & Soot Remediation

  • Help set up containment zones using plastic sheeting and negative air machines to prevent cross-contamination.

  • Apply antimicrobial treatments and wipe down soot-covered structural surfaces in homes or commercial buildings.

3. Packing, Moving & Contents Care

  • Pack, move, and protect customer furniture, electronics, and personal belongings prior to structural repairs.

  • Clean and deodorize salvageable contents on-site or in the warehouse.

4. Equipment Maintenance & Vehicle Care

  • Clean, inspect, and maintain tools and equipment after returning from job sites.

  • Keep service vans organized, fully stocked, and clean for the next service call.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • No prior experience required—valid work ethic and willingness to learn are top priorities.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work in varied environments (attics, basements, crawlspaces).

  • Comfortable wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including respirators when needed.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Must pass a background check and initial drug screen.

Expanded Roles & Responsibilities Breakdown

Core Focus Areas for this Role:

  • Hands-On Skills Development: As an entry-level tech, you will work alongside experienced Crew Leaders learning structural drying, moisture reading tools, and demolition safety.

  • Physical & Dynamic Work: Unlike a typical desk job, every day is different. One day involves setting up drying equipment in a flooded office building, and the next involves soot cleanup after a kitchen fire.

  • Emergency Response Readiness: Restoration is a 24/7 industry. Entry-level techs participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to handle after-hours emergencies, offering significant overtime earning potential.

  • Customer Facing Representation: Technicians are often the first face a homeowner sees during a crisis. Maintaining a polite, professional, and empathetic demeanor is a vital part of the job.

Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
