Abatement Supervisor – Eco Safe Abatement (Portland, Oregon)
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate abatement crews on-site, ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily abatement activities, including asbestos, lead, and mold removal projects.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
- Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and enforce all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including work logs, safety records, and compliance reports.
- Ensure proper setup and maintenance of containment barriers, decontamination units, and PPE usage.
- Troubleshoot project challenges and resolve issues promptly to keep projects on track.
- Oversee the proper packaging, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and resource allocation.
- Valid Supervisor Certification for asbestos abatement, in accordance with Oregon state and federal regulations.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on abatement experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or crew lead role.
- Proven experience running abatement crews on various project types (residential, commercial, or industrial).
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or safety training preferred.
- Strong knowledge of abatement methods, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical exam.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and wear PPE for extended periods.
- Additional certifications (e.g., OSHA, HAZWOPER, lead safety, first aid/CPR).
- Experience with project management software and digital reporting tools.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
