The Project Director position is responsible for managing and coordinating projects of all sizes and complexities through all phases of design, estimating and approvals. Project Directors also provide leadership for site Project Managers by establishing the scope of work and creating initial work orders. Project Directors are responsible for initial project financials including establishing payment terms and requests of down payments before the project is assigned. Operates with significant independence and minimal supervision as the principal project representative.  


Principal Responsibilities 

Job duties (Including, but not limited to): 

 

  • Reviews projects to ensure that scope is clearly documented and understood by the customer. 
  • Performs initial inspection, DocuSketch, and writes estimate to return property to pre-loss conditions. 
  • Works with special trade sub-contractors go gather bids for estimate submittal 
  • Handles approval process with insurance company and homeowner. 
  • Utilize Dash Restoration Software for documentation, estimate tracking, work order creation, and financials. 
  • Establishes a budget for each project that ensures completion at budgeted gross margins  
  • Assumes overall initial responsibility for project financials which include but are not limited to pricing, costs, margins and budget creation. 
  • Establishes payment terms, including progress billings and deductible payments in accordance with Servpro guidelines 
  • Reviews and inspect work performed to ensure quality. 
  • Communicates throughout the approval process with the customer via phone, text and email 
  • Works with customer to complete change orders pre-production. Once in production, PD will work with PM to create change orders for customer to sign off on.  
  • Assist in upholding all Company policies, procedures, and safety policies. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Required experience: 3 years restoration experience. 
  • Must have 3+years of experience as an Estimator or Project Manager with a disaster restoration company and knowledge/experience of water/fire restoration  
Certifications: 

  • Xactimate Level 1 & 2 preferred 
  • IICRC certification preferred 
Competencies: 

  • Must be able to work without supervision. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Strong communication and relationship 
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures in water, fire, and mold trades. 
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate oral and written instructions. 
  • Ability to train and supervise employees (Project Managers) 
  • Ability to exercise judgement and act 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong multi-tasking 
  • Ability to react well under pressure 
  • Able to prioritize and plan work 
  • Must be reliable and on time. 
  • Strong background with identifying, negotiating with and managing 
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards. 
  • Ability to be compassionate and manage emotional customer situations and respond promptly. 
  • Work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as a team 
Compensation: $85,000.00 per year
