Summary:
The Contents Technician plays a vital role in restoring properties after disasters. They handle the careful inventory, cleaning, and secure storage of a homeowner's belongings during the restoration process. This position requires attention to detail, sensitivity to the customer's situation, and the ability to work in both warehouse and on-site environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-site Assessment and Packing: Systematically inventory and document a homeowner's belongings, pack items carefully for transport, and label boxes clearly for organized storage.
- Cleaning and Restoration: Perform cleaning and restoration of various household items (furniture, clothing, electronics, etc.) using specialized cleaning techniques and equipment, following detailed instructions to restore items to pre-loss condition.
- Documentation: Accurately record the condition of all contents, track cleaning progress, and maintain detailed records for reporting.
- Warehouse Organization: Organize, store, and maintain contents in a secure warehouse environment, ensuring proper placement and tracking.
- Customer Communication: Interact professionally and empathetically with clients while handling their belongings, providing updates as needed.
- On-site Cleaning: When required, perform on-site structural cleaning and deodorization following established protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in cleaning, restoration, or inventory management preferred.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)
- Strong organizational and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn specialized cleaning techniques.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some on-call availability.
- Experience in the restoration industry.
- Familiarity with contents inventory and tracking software.
